Tim Connors, Senior Counsel, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company
Tim Connors is an attorney at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, where he works on IT contracting and other IT and privacy issues as Senior Counsel in the Law Department’s Intellectual Property group.
Before joining Goodyear, Tim spent 15 years as an IT and Intellectual Property attorney at Calfee Halter & Griswold in Cleveland, initially as an associate and later as a partner. He began his legal career at Squire Sanders & Dempsey in Cleveland, now known as Squire Patton Boggs.
Tim has been an active participant in NEOCC since its formation, and also serves as corporation secretary.
Dave Crews, Senior Vice President and Director of Information Security, KeyBank
Dave Crews is Director of Information Security for KeyBank. He is responsible for Vulnerability Management, Penetration Testing, Application Security and Forensics to ensure that risks are identified in a timely manner and addressed from a risk based approach. He has been with KeyBank for 14 years and drove the development and implementation of Key’s Security Operations Center. He also has worked extensively on security reporting and metrics to effectively report on the company’s security posture.
He has also held positions previously in Cyber Audit and other Information Security positions where he was responsible implementing and deploying information security policy, program and control across the enterprise. He has over 25 years of experience in the Info/Cyber Security area. He holds CISM and CISA certifications.
Dave has been involved with NEOCC from its inception and KeyBank is one of the founding members of the organization. He also serves as corporation treasurer and co-chair of the finance committee.
G. Dick Kerr, Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer, Eaton Corporation plc
G. Dick Kerr is Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer for Eaton Corporation plc, a multinational power management company with 2018 sales of $21.6 billion. Kerr has over 30 years of management experience in a wide variety of information technology disciplines including financial and manufacturing systems deployment, project management, database administration, web development, enterprise architecture, and information security. Since becoming Eaton’s CISO in 2013, he has built a talented and diverse team as leader of the company’s global Architecture, Governance and Security Center of Excellence.
Dick is also a member of the Workforce Advisory Council for the Professional Institute at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Computing and Information. He holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology from Grand Valley State University and is a past recipient of the Computerworld Smithsonian Award for Innovative Use of Information Technology.
Kevin Mooney, Senior Director of Enterprise Data Governance, Cleveland Clinic
Kevin is Senior Director of the Enterprise Data Governance Office at the Cleveland Clinic. He is responsible for developing the strategic and cultural framework related to managing high quality reliable data, in compliance with law and regulation, in order to meet data-reliant goals at the Cleveland Clinic’s critical points of need. An attorney, he worked in Cleveland Clinic’s Legal Office from 2005 through 2017, where he was the Lead IT Commercial Counsel and Chair of its IT Practice Group. In those roles, he was heavily engaged in the strategy and implementation of Cleveland Clinic’s technology, analytics, telemedicine, EMR, cloud, digital health, privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property and strategic alliance initiatives.
Kevin is also one of the founders of the Northeast Ohio CyberConsortium, and also serves as co-chair of the governance committee. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic, Kevin served as in-house counsel at several other organizations, specializing in technology, intellectual property and commercial law.
Ed Pollock, Chief Information Security Officer, STERIS plc
Ed Pollock is the Chief Information Security Officer for STERIS plc, a $2.6B global leader providing infection prevention and procedural products and services. At STERIS, he built and oversees the worldwide cybersecurity strategy and operations.
Ed has over 27 years of experience in IT, covering program management, software development, operations, including 17 years’ experience in cybersecurity. He is a member and former chair of Bitsight Technologies’ Customer Advisory Board; an Advisory Board Member for the State of Ohio’s CyberOhio initiative; and a member of a local hospital’s Cyber Security Committee.
He has presented at various security conferences, including MITSI InfoSec World. His security certifications include the CISSP-ISSMP and the CISM. Prior to working at STERIS, Ed served as an officer in the US Air Force where he worked at the Standard Systems Center and the Air Force Institute of Technology. He holds CISSP and CISM certifications.
Bob Eckman, Chief Information Security Officer, Kent State University
Bob Eckman is Chief Information Security Officer at Kent State University where he leads the Information Security Team. Prior to this role, Bob served as CISO and Security Principal, CISO at MCPc Inc., headquartered in Cleveland, where guided MCPc’s international cybersecurity services, solutions and staff.
He has over 25 years of experience in security, technology and project/ program management. As Cyber Security Program Manager, Nuclear Division, at FirstEnergy, he implemented the nation’s first cyber security program for Nuclear Power Generation (NEI-0809). He also served in IT/Security leadership roles at Progressive Insurance and Shearer’s Foods.
He is an Adjunct Professor at Kent State University where he was awarded the KSU Outstanding Teaching Award in 2016. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall Law College. He was recognized by the Ohio State Senate for his achievements in the classroom. He co-chairs the Kent State University Cyber Security Curriculum and serves on the board of the Ohio Information Technology Association. He holds an MBA, active PMP Certification, and is an active member of (ISC)2 where he also holds his CISSP Certification. For NEOCC, he also serves as vice-president of the corporation and vice-chair of the board.
Bob is a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio. He and his wife of 25 years, Cathleen, have two children, Michael and Sarah (and 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 4 fish).
Jess Walpole, Vice President for Information Technology – Americas and International Welding, The Lincoln Electric Company
Jess Walpole serves as VP for Information Technology – Americas and International Welding, at The Lincoln Electric Company with a focus on enabling secure and agile technologies to support revenue generation, operational efficiency and business success.
She has over 20 years of Security, IT and Governance experience with Fortune 500 companies. Throughout her career, she has established and executed strategies to enable digital business transformation while applying a pragmatic approach to ensure business resilience, governance, and compliance through effective utilization of resources and systems. She holds CISM, CISA, and CGEIT certifications.
Jess earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Business Administration from Malone University and is a FBI Citizens Academy Alumna. She is an Ohio native committed to the community and actively participates in professional forums such as InfraGard, CISO Executive Network, CXO Exchange and CollegeNow. For NEOCC, she also serves as president of the corporation and chair of the board.
